Church Events

A Tradition of Missionary Service in Our Church Was Begun Last Year by Missionaries Amy Barrett, Jamie Hoff, and the Witkowski Family - All of Whom Reported a Rewarding Experience. This Year, in Addition to Repeat Service by Ms. Barrett, Ms. Hoff, and Members of the Witkowski Family, Three Additional Parishoners Will Be Undertaking Missionary Trips - Jeffrey Hoff, Tatiana Lapchuk, and Gregory Sprogis. The seven missionaries and their destinations are as follows: Jamie and Jeffrey Hoff and Tatiana Lapchuk (shown below right) - Spruce Island, Alaska; Gregory Sprogis (shown below left) and Kelly and Suzanne Witkowski - Guatemala; Amy Barrett - Korea.

Ms. Lapchuk is the Daughter of Matushka Argyra Lapchuk and the Grand-Daughter of Matushka Pauline Warnecke and the Late Very Reverend Alexander Warnecke. She is Related as Well to the Very Reverend Paul Shafran, Pastor Emeritus of SS. Peter and Paul Church in Trenton, N.J. All Seven Missionaries Will Be Toting Cameras to Record Their Activities. Upon Their Return in Late Summer, Watch This Space for Future Photo Reports Courtesy of Our Missionary Ambassadors.

Mr. Mark Kruger (in Photo Above Left with Father David) is a Member of Parish Council. He is Also the Coordinator of Missionary Activities for Our Parish. Among His Responsibilities Are Fund-Raising for Missionary Trips and Encouraging Prospective Parishoners For Future Missionary Trips in 2005 - Our Parish's Centennial Year. In Photo Above Right, Jeffrey Hoff (Shown Right with His Sister at Last Year's FOCA Christmas Party), is Making His First Trip to Alaska.

She Represents Both Our Parish and the OCMC (Orthodox Christian Mission Center in Florida) as She Sets Off for Korea This Year. She is the First Parishoner in Our Parish to Devote Her Life Exclusively to Missionary Work.

In Photos Above Right and Below is the Witkowski Family. Last Year Mother Susan and Twin Daughters Kelly and Kristy Performed Missionary Service in Guatemala. This Year, Kelly is Again Returning for Service in the Same Country, Accompanied by Her Sister and First-Time Missionary Suzanne.

In photo above, Suzanne Witkowski is Shown With Her Mother Susan on a Visit to the Sopchak Residence on Holy Saturday 2003.

In photo above, Kelly Witkowski, Gregory Sprogis, and Tatiana Lapchuk are shown on August 22, 2004 after the completion of their individual missionary trips to Alaska and Guatemala as described above. This reporter has long ago concluded that it would be highly unlikely to ever photograph a reunion of all seven missionaries for the year 2004. However, in the photo below left (taken August 29, 2004 - the Feast Day of the Beheading of St. John the Baptist), he gladly takes a photo of five of the seven missionaries. Left to right are Alexandra (Jamie) Hoff (Alaska), Suzanne Witkowski (Guatemala), Gregory Sprogis (Guatemala), Kelly Witkowski (Guatemala), and Tatiana Lapchuk (Alaska). Below right, Amy Barrett is shown in front of our Church on October 10, 2004. Minutes earlier, she had spoken to the parish about her recently-completed missionary trip to South Korea.
