Church Services

On the Morning of Holy Thursday - April 8, 2004 - A Vesperal Liturgy of Saint Basil the Great Was Served.
A Lengthy Gospel Reading Recounted the Events Commemorated on This Day - Jesus Washing the Feet
of His Disciples in Extreme Humility, the Celebration of the Mystical Supper at Which the Sacrament
of Holy Communion Was Instituted, and the Betrayal of Jesus by Judas Iscariot.

During the Liturgy, Instead of Singing the Cherubimic Hymn Before the Great Entrance, the Prayer Before Communion -
Normally Read - Is Sung by the Choir. At the End of the Liturgy, the Tetrapod in the Center of the Church is Moved and
in Its Place is Put The Golgotha in Anticipation of the Matins of Great and Holy Friday on Thursday Evening.
The Penitential Season Draws to a Close and the Day of Resurrection is Near, But Attention
Now Focuses on the Most Solemn Day in the Calendar of the Orthodox Church - Good Friday.
