Church Events
August 15, 2004 - Out-of-towners driving to the Rib Barbecue sponsored by the Senior R Club (FOCA) of South River needed no road map if they were driving into the wind as the smell of ribs cooking was evident even at the town's border. Originally scheduled for the Seven Acres grounds, the leaden skies (above) and soggy grounds - remnants of Tropical Storm Charley - forced the picnic into the Church Hall. A tent was set up alongside the Church Hall for the barbecue grills (four photos immediately below).
As the two photos above and others following will show, food of all types was in abundance but the predominating theme of the picnic was ribs. Below, Father David leads those gathered in praying The Lord's Prayer before everyone sat down to eat. At the extreme left in this photo is Mr. Michael Steffaro, the newly-elected Vice-President of FOCA at the national level.
