Church Events
October 1, 2004 - On the Feast of the Protection, SS. Peter and Paul's Mens Club held its annual Fish Fry Dinner. The event was well-attended, both by our own parishoners and friends from the community, as is attested by the photos shown on this page . Proceeds from the event accrue to the Mens Club treasury and this organization, in turn, provides much support to the parish throughout the year. In photos below left and right, parishoners Mary Fritz and Joe Hartman greeted the arrivals and sold dinner tickets.

Above left, the setting sun in the late afternoon of a day in Fall casts lengthening shadows in the entrance to the Church Hall. The actual cooking was done alongside the Church Hall by two men from a catering service. The day was flawless weatherwise (photos above).
Above left, the dinner had a variety of foods available, but fish was the "guest of honor" (above right). Below, fish and fries were prepared in the hot cooking oil.
Above left, Father David was colorfully attired with red apron over black cassock. He was in charge of the coffee service in the Church Hall kitchen while other parishoners outside (photos above right and below left) filled plates and distributed the dinners. Below right, members of the Shaluha family took a moment to pose with members of the Mens Club.
Father David led those assembled in the Lord's Prayer before the beginning of the meal. Above left, Father David is shown making announcements to those assembled including a promotion for the observance of our Church's upcoming Centennial Anniversary. The event ran from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. but at 5:45 p.m., as the clock on the wall shows in the photo above right, the dinner was nearly fully subscribed. Below, the door prize, a "Boo Basket", awaits a trip home with the lucky winner!
