Centennial Year Church Events

October 30, 2004 - SS. Peter and Paul Orthodox Church holds the first listed event of its Centennial Year observance - the Centennial Fall Festival 2004. The event - open to the public - featured fellowship and the sale of food and a variety of gift items. This photoreport is divided into three sections - an introduction, a feature of participating parishoners, and a feature of items on display and for sale. Because the number of both participating parishoners and items for sale was large, this photoreport is intentionally generous. After all, a Centennial Year event occurs only once every one hundred years!

Above, the Fall Festival was held in the Church Hall but the event was also advertised in front of our Church. The Church was open to visitors throughout the festival and a brochure about SS. Peter and Paul Church and the Orthodox Faith was available as well. Below, the Church Hall was divided into four general areas as shown - the Kitchen, where visitors obtained all manner of ethnic food: Sales, where everything from icons to dolls to childrens books was available; Bakery, where babka and all sorts of freshly baked goods were sold; and Tea Room, where coffee, tea, and cakes were available.

The following block of seventeen photos is devoted to parishoners in service to the Church, for it was through their efforts that the event was a satisfying success!

The following block of twenty-three photos shows the myriad items that were on display and for sale. It was indeed an event full of color!
