January 26, 2007 -   Food, Fellowship, and Fun at Deanery Dance!   -   The First Annual "Snowball", Co-Sponsored by Mother of God, Joy of All Who Sorrow Church in Rocky Hill, N.J., and SS. Peter and Paul Orthodox Church in South River, Was Held in Our Parish Hall on the Evening of Friday, January 26. The dance was an event open to all high school and college youth of the New Jersey Deanery. Below are photos from the event, presented in random order.

In the photo above right, we see the guests who took a moment to pause for a group photo before the dance began. Below left, the women who prepared the food in the kitchen also took a moment to gather for a group photo. Below right, Rev. David Garretson, Rector of SS. Peter and Paul Orthodox Church, leads those assembled in prayer before the meal.

Below left, the buffet-style dinner was kept warm by heat from lamps beneath the trays. The five photos which follow show the young adults seated at table.

En route from Paramus to South River, the DJs (above right) endured an auto hardship but, unhurt, they decided that the "show must go on"! Below, we see the smoke, multi-colored lights, and frenetic movement characteristic of a disco!

Above left - Everything was in motion this evening, including long locks of hair!

Above left - A good time was had by all! Below - All of the participants came to the dance dressed in their "Sunday-best" and their behavior was exemplary. The First Annual Snowball Dance is now a part of history and this archived page records the first-such event. Thanks to all who made the evening successful. See you at Snowball 2008!
