Centennial Year Church Events

March 20, 2005 -   On the first Sunday of Great Lent - the Sunday of Orthodoxy - Parish Council was installed after Divine Liturgy for the Year 2005-2006.   These individuals will serve during the remaining portion of our Centennial Anniversary Year.   Left to right in the first row: Treasurer Diane Dreyer, Secretary Stephanie Schiebel, Financial Secretary Sandra Hoff, Rev. David F. Garretson, Church President (Starosta) James Kornafel, and First Assistant Starosta Hank Dziemian.   Left to right in the second row: Leo Radionoff, Sonja Harris, Dorothy Edwards, Emily Szestakowski, Robert Hoff, and Natalka Pavlovsky Weismantel.   Left to right in the third row: Walter Sudnikovich, Michael Steffaro, and Janet Hartman.   Left to right in the fourth row: Gregory Berezniak and Walter Deerson.   Not present for the photo was Second Assistant Starosta Edward Boshko.   Thanks as well to those parishioners who served on Parish Council last year with distinction but were unable to serve this year: Mark Kruger, Anna Krutel, Boris Shidlovsky, and Nadia Shidlovsky.   Mnogaya Lyeta!   Many Years!

Above left, Father David is about to read a letter from His Beatitude HERMANN, Archbishop of Washington, Metropolitan of All America and Canada, stating that all parishioners about to be installed as members of Parish Council had met the requirements for such positions of service to the Church.

Above, members of Parish Council take the oath of office wherein they vow to execute their offices to the best of their abilities with accountability to themselves, to their fellow parishioners, and to God. Below, at the conclusion of the brief service, each Parish Council member kissed the Book of Gospels, venerated the icon on the Tetrapod, and was greeted by Father David Garretson and was blessed by him with Holy Water.
